Values

The Computational Marine Ethology Research Institute holds key to its guiding principles the following core values:

  • Excellence in research practices, quality, and ethical practices that will uniquely position the Institute to meet and exceed all core elements of its strategic plan.

  • Autonomy in the crafting of, and in the execution of Institute research plans so long as the chosen path forward remains consistent with the core Values.

  • Openness in the sharing of ideas, discoveries, and challenges that pose any risk to the strategic vision of the Institute.

  • Integrity will be consistently demonstrated in all activities - no matter how large or small; how visible or foundational.

  • Diversity and inclusion of many voices in order to provide a sustainable team setting.

  • Community spirit for all supported Institute activities.

  • Traceability of all core activities, operations, and actions: “Whenever you do a thing, act as if all the world were watching”. [1]
