Strategic Plan

The strategic plan for the Computational Marine Ethology Research Institute is to:

  • Endeavor to elucidate the association between marine ethology and first principles physics.

  • Rigorously pursue a transformative understanding of marine ethology including environmental control/mitigation by using and advancing state-of-the-art computational techniques designed to run on next generation platforms.

  • Develop and deploy novel computational capabilities focused on broadening the fundamental understanding of fluid flow phenomena in the context of complex animal ethology.

  • Publish, present, and share all scientific advances within the open domain including publicly available code, significant scientific findings, papers and presentations.

  • Nurture, foster, and guide the novel field of study known as Computational Marine Ethology (CME) with emphasis on securing passion, excitement, environmental commitment, and stewardship of marine life for all future generations.

"COMERI provides a unique scientific environment that enables exploration of marine ethology in a manner never yet envisioned."
