We transform and expand the world's understanding of marine ethology through innovative use of state-of-the-art computational tools
The Computational Marine Ethology Research Institute has been created to drive foundational understanding of marine ethology (behavior) from a first-principles physics perspective. By researching, developing, and deploying state-of-the-art computational tools, the Institute strives to understand the manner in which marine animals mitigate the complex oceanic environment in which they live.
We are a committed team of researchers who have been formally trained within the application field of computational mechanics with focus on numerical approaches to solving a wide range of multi-physics applications. Our initial Board of Directors represents a cross cut of computational scientists including some from the finest United States Academic Institutions.
Most physical phenomena witnessed on Earth requires a fundamental understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Building on these principles, and in utilizing and developing state-of-the-art computational techniques and tools, the Institute is uniquely positioned to drive transformative understanding of marine ethology.
The Institute was formally granted 501(c)(3) status as of January 24, 2018.
